The type of damage
If it’s a small chip or crack that is no more than an inch/$1 coin, it will most likely be more economical to repair it, rather than replace the entire windscreen.
The location of the chip or crack
If the damage is close to the edge of the window, if you have had a previous crack/chip repaired in that same spot before or if it is directly in-front of your driver-side view, then a windscreen replacement is likely required.

can other windows be repaired?
Unfortunately due to the way the glass in your rear windscreen and side door windows is made, these cannot be repaired and must be replaced.
The rear windscreen and side door windows are made to shatter when damaged, in the need of an emergency exit in an accident. The best option in any case is to talk to someone for an honest quote based on your circumstances.
